How To Create a BlackBerry Media Card (SD Card) app file for Google Maps for use with Aerize Loader
The process of creating an application file for your media card isn't very difficult, but does require a few steps to accomplish. This is a short tutorial to create the files needed for Google Maps for Blackberry, one app that REALLY works well with Aerize Loader.
1. Find the install location. Searching with Google we find that Google Maps for BlackBerry is available as an easy to use ALX install for use with the BlackBerry Desktop Installer or BES. It works very well with Aerize Loader. Visiting the http://www.google.com/mobile/enterprise/ site, you will find a link to the ALX files.
2. Download the BES ALX file @ http://www.google.com/mobile/hosted/maps/binaries/L1/4.4.0/GoogleMaps.zip
3. Choose the correct file. When you have downloaded the GoogleMaps.zip file, find the version you want, probably the BlackBerry-47 folder. Copy the GoogleMaps.cod file to the /loader/ folder on your SD Card.
Now you have a Google Maps Media Card app for Aerize Loader! The icon should automatically appear on your home screen.
